Using Atrium

What is Atrium?

Atrium is your search tool for all sources and resources available through UdeM Libraries: books and journal articles in print or electronic format, images and audiovisual materials, theses and dissertations, course reserves, etc.

Search

Search modes

Three search modes are available: simple search, advanced search and browse.

In simple and advanced search, the contents of Atrium are divided into subsets:

Books, journals and more Collections of printed and electronic books, journals and other types of documents.
Articles Searches the Primo Central collection, a unified index which aggregates content from hundreds of databases and platforms.
Course reserve Documents which are temporarily restricted to in-library use, at the request of a professor and for the duration of the semester. These can be searched by course ID, course name or the name of the professor.
Everything Includes the three collections described above.

Simple search

Returns all records containing the word(s) entered. The search is done in the entire record.

Advanced search

This search allows you to specify that the word(s) entered should be found within a specific field of the records (title, author, etc.), and lets you limit your search by document type, language, date range, etc.

Browse

Enter the first few characters of a word to position yourself in one of the following indexes: Title, Author, Subject, LC call number or Dewey call number.
